Spring (March–April) is spring break season, and it’s exactly as busy as you’ve heard, especially March 5 through April 20 — we even carry a higher security deposit during that stretch for a reason. If you’re traveling without kids and want energy and nightlife, this is it. If you’re bringing a family, consider late April once the crowds thin but the pool weather holds.
Summer (May–August) is peak everything: warmest Gulf water, longest days, busiest restaurants. Book your house early, this is when both Seashell Palace and Seashell Palace 2 fill up first. It’s also when the heated pools matter least and the hot tubs matter most, since the Gulf itself is warm enough to swim in without a second thought.
Fall (September–November) is the season locals quietly prefer. The water is still warm from summer, the heat backs off, and the beach empties out on weekdays. Hurricane season technically runs through November, so keep an eye on the forecast, but a well-timed fall week gets you the best of both a relaxed pace and good weather.
Winter (December–February) is the slow season, and it has its own appeal. It’s too cool for most people to swim outside without heating the pool, which is why both homes offer that as an option, and the hot tub runs hot year round at no charge either way. Expect quiet beaches, easy parking, and a slower rhythm. Better suited to a couples trip or a smaller family gathering than a big pool party.
